Job summary

Emory Healthcare in Atlanta seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy by procuring, preparing, packaging, and distributing medications under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of an ASHP accredited technician training program or enrollment in a professional-related school preferred.
• 6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician or completion of ASHP-accredited tech training program preferred.
• Current CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration, or current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with a current Georgia Pharmacy Intern license.

Responsibilities

• Procures, prepares, packages, distributes and disposes medications and pharmaceutical supplies under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
• Maintains inventory of drugs and supplies; re-orders and stocks items upon delivery.
• Follows USP, DEA and FDA guidelines when repackaging and compounding pharmaceutical products.
• Operates and maintains departmental automation and equipment.
• Ensures pharmacist product verification and timely distribution of medications.

Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration or enrollment
