Job summary

ChenMed in Virginia is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations, enter patient and drug information, and process prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of pharmacy experience, an active Pharmacy Technician registration, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills to collaborate with Pharmacists and assist patients.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent; experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis.
• Board of Pharmacy technician registration; maintain current licensure.
• Minimum one year of experience in a pharmacy setting including data entry.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist healthcare providers in person or by phone.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and stock levels.
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems and ensure accuracy.
• Fill prescriptions, count and pour medications, verify interactions.
• Report prescription errors to Pharmacist and follow procedures.
• Comply with HIPAA, Medicare and co-pay requirements.
