Job summary

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent; experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis above the minimum.
• Board of Pharmacy technician registration and current licensure.
• Minimum one year of experience in a pharmacy setting including data entry.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and complies with the Pharmacy Technician Code of Conduct.
• Assists healthcare providers and patients; greets them and refers questions to the Pharmacist.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory; checks stock and places orders.
• Uses pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information and processes prescriptions.
• Reports prescription errors to the Pharmacist and follows error-handling procedures.
• Follows HIPAA, Medicare and co-pay requirements.
• Directs and assists team members to maintain workflow and deadlines.
• Processes claims for third-party reimbursement accurately.
