Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical principles and practices, including medical terminology and of insurance payors.
• Ability to get along with the public and make patients feel welcome and comfortable.
• Must be willing to travel to satellite offices if necessary.
• Must maintain appropriate Pharmaceutical license.
• Must have the ability to work as a team with coworkers and providers.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service.
• Performs general administrative duties as requested by physicians and office managers.
• Processes prior authorizations and refill requests in the EMR system.
• Assists in connecting patients with various patient assistance programs offered.
• Maintains medication samples onsite and tracks dispensing.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with pharmaceutical representatives.
• Takes incoming calls from pharmacies to provide refill authorizations and answer questions about medications.
• Takes incoming calls from patients and assists with medication concerns or messages for the physician.
