Job summary

Bayview Physicians Group is seeking a full-time administrative role within our outpatient multi-specialty medical group. You will provide excellent customer service, perform clerical duties for physicians, and handle prior authorizations and refill requests in the EMR system.

The position requires knowledge of pharmaceutical principles, strong communication, and the ability to work with patients and providers across satellite offices. Competitive benefits accompany full-time employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical principles and practices, including medical terminology and insurance payors.
• Ability to get along with the public and make patients feel welcome and comfortable.
• Willingness to travel to satellite offices if necessary.
• Must maintain appropriate Pharmaceutical license.
• Ability to work as a team with coworkers and providers.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service
• Performs general administrative duties as requested by physicians and office managers
• Processes prior authorizations and refill requests in the Electronic Medical Record system
• Assists in connecting patients with various patient assistance programs offered
• Maintains medication samples onsite and tracks dispensing
• Establishes and maintains relationships with pharmaceutical representatives
• Takes incoming calls from pharmacies to provide refill authorizations, and answer questions about medication interactions
• Takes incoming calls from patients and assists them with medication concerns or takes messages for the physician.
