Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist with preparation, dispensing and delivery of medications under pharmacist supervision. This non-exempt, on-site role supports IV room processes and distribution tasks in a busy hospital pharmacy.

Responsibilities include triaging requests, delivering meds to patient care areas, inventory tasks, and ensuring accurate labeling and packaging.

Qualifications

• Baseline understanding of automated dispensing systems, technology and IV room processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in label and packaging.
• Ability to comply with department and hospital policies and procedures.
• Effective communication with pharmacy staff and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone calls and triages requests from customers to the pharmacist staff.
• Delivers medications to patient care areas and collects physician orders and returns.
• Performs inventory tasks, orders and stores medications and checks expiration dates.
• Packages unit-dose medications with proper labeling and assists with IV and distribution workflows.
