Job summary

Deaconess Illinois is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team. You will prepare, label, and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision, review prescriptions, and support inventory management in a patient-centered setting.

You will interact with patients and providers, assist with refills and insurance questions, and maintain accurate records in HIPAA-compliant workflows. Full-time, on-site roles with opportunities for growth and education support.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program preferred.
Current Illinois Pharmacy Technician License required.
National Pharmacy Technician Certification required within two years of licensure.
Previous Pharmacy Technician or healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately prepare, package, label, and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Review prescription orders and verify information for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering, stocking and storage of medications.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients and providers and assist with prescription refills and insurance inquiries.
Maintain patient records, process insurance claims, and ensure proper documentation.
