Job summary

Cone Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Patient Advocate Specialist II to assist patients and providers with benefits investigations and enrollment in manufacturer assistance programs. This role supports medication access under moderate supervision and collaborates with clinical staff to ensure timely access.

The position requires a Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB/NHA) prior to hire and NC Board of Pharmacy registration within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire; NC Board of Pharmacy registration within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs benefits investigations for specified clinic or medications.
• Obtains insurance prior authorizations and pre-certifications.
• Coordinates with manufacturer assistance programs for under/uninsured patients.
• Acts as a liaison between the patient, clinic and/or infusion center, pharmacy, third party payor, and/or drug manufacturer.
• Works collaboratively with clinical pharmacists and care team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
