Job summary

Cone Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Patient Advocate Specialist II to assist patients and providers with benefits investigations and enrollment in manufacturer assistance programs to help patients access needed medications.

Under moderate supervision, you will collaborate with clinical pharmacists and care teams, coordinate with payors, and support enrollment and prior authorization processes in a full-time, days-based schedule with on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician or related role.
• Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB or NHA prior to hire; must be registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs benefits investigations for specified clinic or medications.
• Obtains insurance prior authorizations and pre-certifications.
• Coordinates with manufacturer assistance programs for under/uninsured patients.
• Acts as a liaison between patient, clinic/infusion center, pharmacy, payor, and manufacturer.
• Works collaboratively with clinical pharmacists and care team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
