Job summary

Providence Milwaukie Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a part-time, variable shift to support filling and dispensing unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other departments. The role includes handling oral and IV meds, triaging orders, and maintaining the automated dispensing system (ADS).

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Oregon Pharmacy Technician license or certification required (PTCB preferred).
• Minimum one year of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system or two years in hospital pharmacy if not PTCB certified.

Responsibilities

• Fill/dispense unit dose and stock medications to nursing units and other departments.
• Triaging patient orders and ensuring accuracy of dispensed medications.
• Maintain integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).

Pharmacy Technician – Providence Milwaukie Hospital

Part‑time, variable shift. The Acute Care Pharmacy Technician II performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt and accurate manner. This includes filling/dispensing oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders, and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).

Required Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician or Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
• Minimum one year (> 2080 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and current PTCB certification – OR – two years (> 4160 hours) of hospital pharmacy experience if not PTCB certified.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
• Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable for role.
• Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).
