Job summary

The Upper Mattaponi Tribe Health System in Virginia is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to join the VA pharmacy team. You will ensure safe and effective use of medications and support the pharmacist with patient care at the point of service.

You must have a Virginia pharmacy technician license and at least two years of experience preferred; college degree is optional. The role requires onsite work and adherence to tribal and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

Demonstrates proficiency with pharmacy operating systems and basic math.
Works well in a team and supports a positive work environment.
Understanding of federal/state pharmacy regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

Distribute assignments and higher complexity tasks as directed by the pharmacist.
Provide telephone and in-person triage for patient pharmacy care issues to improve outcomes and access.
Contribute to quality improvement efforts within the pharmacy team.
Greet patients and healthcare providers, answer questions, and assist as needed.
Verify patient identity before releasing medications at the cash register.
Assist in training of peer technicians and pharmacy students.
Support inventory management processes and medication supply.
Process prescription entry and adjudicate insurance claims.
Perform other duties as assigned.
