Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in filling prescription items as allowed by state regulations.
• Type prescription information to produce labels.
• Label products, including warning and auxiliary labels.
• Take inventory, place orders, stock shelves, and remove outdated items.
• Input patient data and medication orders into computer systems.
• Prepare medications (emulsions, liquids, powders, ointments).
• Package medications for dispensing and delivery.
• Communicate with nursing centers and customers professionally.
• Process returned medications for credit or destruction.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Assists the Pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Types prescription information to produce labels.
• Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
• Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves, and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
• Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system.
• Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments.
• Packages medications for dispensing and for delivery.
• Communicates with nursing center personnel and other customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
• Perform other tasks assigned.
• Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
