Overview
To assist pharmacists in accurately and aseptically preparing and dispensing medications, as well as correctly entering and processing medication charges and credits throughout the hospital information system.

Education
High School Diploma or GED
Work Experience
Previous Pharmacy Technician experience.
Responsibilities
The technician has a thorough understanding of the pyxis medstation system, pharmacy patient profile systems, compounding medications and preparation of IVs. The incumbent has a thorough understanding of the Omnicell Medstation System, including pending new meds, filling labels off the printer, filling and loading meds at the Omnicell stations, filling Stock Low/Stock Out reports, refilling of bulk medications, crediting returned meds, discharges, etc.
The technician maintains daily reports and stock inventories, makes stock meds as needed, and accurately fills exchange carts and baskets for other departments. This position accurately distributes medications to each patient care area by established procedure. The technician is responsible for returning credited meds to stock based on Beyond Use Dating and for keeping all work areas clean, neat, organized, and stocked.
The technician accurately performs monthly floor checks, files department documents and medication orders. Floor checks are performed on a monthly basis, following the guidelines specified for each.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $17.33 per hour - $28.07 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
