Job summary

Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum and UnitedHealth Group, seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing prescriptions and clerical duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. The home site is 1100 W. 6th Ave, Gary, IN 46402, with coverage for PTO as needed.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30am–5:00pm CST. Primary duties include filling prescriptions, managing supplies, processing orders, inventory verification, and ensuring compliance with federal/state requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active Indiana Pharmacy Technician license required.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Fills prescription orders under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
• Orders, receives and stores incoming pharmacy supplies.
• Receives and processes wholesaler medication orders.
• Verifies medication stock and enters data to maintain inventory records.
• Works with the Pharmacist to assist in pharmacy functions and compliance with federal/state requirements.
• Performs various clerical duties relating to the department.
