Job summary

Cone Health Medical Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Lead Certified Acute Care to support pharmacists in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, you will maintain quality workflows and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include managing IV compounding, serving as a reference and mentor for staff, leading process improvements, and ensuring quality customer service within and outside the pharmacy.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience required in pharmacy technician roles, with CH accredited technician training equivalence to 2 years.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician required with advanced certification to be completed within 12 months of start.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains pharmacy workflow, including compounding hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications and distribution of medications per standards.
• Provides guidance and serves as a reference for other pharmacy technicians; mentors new staff.
• Leads process improvements and implements departmental quality initiatives.
• Communicates effectively with team members inside and outside of pharmacy to ensure quality customer service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Pharmacy Technician Lead Certified Acute Care performs specialized functions necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. Working under limited supervision, this role maintains quality of workflows, regulatory standards, and other complex pharmacy processes.

Essential Job Function

• Maintains pharmacy workflow; including but not limited to compounding hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications, distribution of medication in compliance with current standards or obtaining a complete and accurate medication history based on organization standard.
• Serves as a reference for other pharmacy technicians.
• Serves as a mentor in the training and orientation of new employees.
• Leads and implements process improvement and departmental quality initiatives.
• Communicates effectively with team members in and outside of pharmacy, providing quality customer service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Required: 7 years. Successful completion (graduation) of CH accredited technician training program is equivalent to 2 years of experience.

Licensure/Certification/Listing

• Required: Certified Pharmacy Technician and must complete an 'advanced pharmacy technician certification' within 12 months of starting the role.
