Job summary

Geisinger in Scranton, PA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support patient care in a clinical setting. You will perform medication preparation, labeling, inventory management, and maintain accurate pharmacy records while adhering to hospital policies.

You'll collaborate with pharmacists and health professionals, communicate with patients when gathering information for care decisions, and participate in onboarding new staff. On-site role with professional growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient/provider/customer care
• Use the pharmacy computer system to facilitate patient care
• Participate in patient/provider/customer care activities that do not require the expertise of a pharmacist
• Prepare and label medications appropriately for distribution.
• Retrieve, review, and perform inventory management for medications and supplies in the pharmacy.
• Maintain pharmacy records.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the pharmacy in compliance with hospital and accreditation policies.
• Participate in the onboarding and training of new pharmacy personnel.
• Participate in direct communication with health professionals to coordinate patient medication services through face-to-face or telephonic interactions.
• Participate in direct communication with patients to gather information to be used by a pharmacist in patient care decisions
• Perform advanced technician duties
