Job summary

VOLTO Consulting is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician for evening shifts (2pm–10pm) with weekend rotation. The role supports pharmacists in dispensing medications and ensuring patient safety across hospital and community settings.

You will perform data entry, assist with IV infusions, and help uphold regulatory compliance while delivering quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing with an accredited program.
• BLS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately under pharmacist supervision, including sterile IV infusions and compounded medications.
• Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by adhering to state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation standards, and medical terminology protocols.
• Perform data entry tasks efficiently using pharmacy software systems to process prescriptions and maintain precise patient records.
• Assist with medication administration processes, including medication intake documentation and patient care activities.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality while handling sensitive health information in accordance with healthcare regulations.
• Support IV compounding procedures using aseptic techniques and sterile IV admixture procedures to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Provide excellent patient service by answering inquiries, explaining medication instructions, and supporting overall patient care initiatives.
• Conduct pharmaceutical calculations accurately for dosage adjustments and medication preparations.
• Support hospital pharmacy operations by managing inventory, restocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of medications.
• Uphold pharmaceutical regulatory compliance through routine audits, documentation reviews, and adherence to drug regulation policies.

Experience

• Prior experience as a pharmacy technician in LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, clinical pharmacy, or community pharmacy settings is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated hospital experience or familiarity with hospital pharmacy procedures is advantageous.
• Knowledge of pharmacy software systems, data entry processes, and medication management protocols is essential.
• Experience with IV infusion preparation, sterile compounding techniques, and aseptic procedures is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, medical terminology, and pharmacological medical terminology.
• Proven ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations accurately in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and maintaining confidentiality.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) from an accredited organization is required; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively within a team while adhering to strict safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
