Job summary

Lincare's Pharmacy Technician Lead in the United States coordinates pharmacy technician activities, answers questions, and provides first‑level leadership, training, and direction for staff technicians.

You will handle customer service calls, enter demographics, manage prescriptions in the computer system, and support the supervisor with workload and productivity while ensuring policy adherence.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service by answering the phone
• provides correct pharmacy information to customers, or refers call to a pharmacist or management if unable to do so
• answers non-clinical questions (when will shipment arrive, etc.)
• Enters patient demographics into patient profile with special emphasis on the correct spelling of name and DOB
• Enters prescription information accurately into computer system
• Provides initial and ongoing training to Pharmacy Technician staff
• Responds to employee work process questions, ensuring that technicians are following company policies and procedures
• Assists Supervisor in assignment of workload and monitoring of efficiency and productivity of technicians
• Uses appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department or employee concerns, escalating issues to supervisor and/or manager as appropriate

The Pharmacy Technician Lead acts as a resource to the Pharmacy Technicians by answering work related questions and directing work flow, and by providing first level leadership, training, and direction for staff technicians.
