Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast in Philadelphia seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist in preparing and filling medications for inpatient and outpatient services, reporting to the Pharmacy Manager and supervising pharmacists.

You will replenish Pyxis machines, ensure proper storage and documentation, and support billing and inventory, while maintaining accuracy and sterility in IV preparation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• PA Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) on hire.
• NJ registration within 180 days for New Jersey entities.
• PTCB certification within 12 months or completion of an approved training program.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers and staff in accordance with Jefferson values.
• Prepares drug orders from physicians for review and dispensing by a pharmacist.
• Replenishes Pyxis machines and monitors refrigerator temperatures with documentation.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals following established procedures.
• Dispenses medications and manages inventory across departments and units.
• Performs IV preparation and daily IV refrigeration logging.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas and carts.

Education

RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

New Jersey Board of Pharmacy registration within 180 days

PTCB certification within 12 months or training program exemption
