Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists with medication orders, inventory management, and delivery to patient care areas. You will operate under supervision and help prepare IV admixtures, unit doses, and hazardous medications.

Requirements include a NJ Pharmacy Technician license, and PTCB or ExCPT within 6 months. Strong English communication and teamwork are essential for success in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• NJ Pharmacy Technician license required.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification must be obtained within 6 months of start.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Effective oral and written English communication.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medication orders for pharmacist review.
• Maintain inventories of medications and supplies.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas.
• Assist in compounding medications and IV admixtures under pharmacist supervision.
• Label and dispense inpatient unit dose medications.
• Reconcile narcotics daily.
• Load medications into ADC with barcode scanning.
• Answer phones and direct calls.
• Prepare hazardous medications for administration.
• Maintain paperwork and records for medications.
• Support QA and safety activities.
