Shift: Evenings 3 to 11:30pm Mon-Fri and every 3rd weekend rotation.
Starting Pay: $20.08 minimum (Offers based on experience and equity)
Shift Differentials: Increases for Evenings, Nights, & Weekends based on State and Job Profile

Job Summary:
A Pharmacy Technician prepares intravenous admixtures, enters medication orders, maintains patient profiles, and assists the pharmacist in medication dispensing and order filling.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE CRITERIA (% of time)
Essential Functions: The following are essential job accountabilities and performance criteria:
- Follows department policy and procedure for preparing and dispensing pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. (20%)
- Fills unit dose bins, mixes intravenous solutions, TPN solutions, oncology chemotherapy; labels and dispenses medications; fills floor stock orders; replenishes Pyxis Med station stock.
- Develops and maintains pharmacy information system order entry and report generation skills. (20%)
- Proficient in all aspects of medication order entry and report generation.
- Meets department criteria for work volume and accuracy.
- Delivers, picks up, and debits/credits pharmacy items from nursing areas. (20%)
- Exchanges unit dose bins and IV admixtures; delivers and picks up solutions.
- Debits/credits patient accounts as per department policy.
- Completes required paperwork for area. (10%)
- Completes QA/QI monitoring data sheets and controlled substance records.
- Maintains complete and accurate patient records. (15%)
- Enters patient-specific information including weight, BSA, allergies.
- Practices safety and infection control policies. (5%)
- Uses universal precautions; maintains a safe environment; reports concerns; completes mandatory training; works safely.
- Provides service excellence to hospital customers. (4%)
- Ensures high customer satisfaction; maintains professionalism; promotes safety culture.
- Incorporates Quality Improvement into daily work. (5%)
- Provides age-appropriate care for infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. (<1%)
- Provides a safe environment; communicates effectively; involves families; demonstrates age-specific service skills.
Job Specifications:
- Minimum Education: High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
- Minimum Experience: 1 year hospital pharmacy tech or 2 years retail pharmacy
- Required Licensure: Missouri Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Working Conditions: Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Physical Requirements: Long periods sitting, standing, lifting up to 45 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 90 lbs
- Equipment: Epic system, printers, PC, IV pumps, Pyxis stations
