Position Overview

The Lab Support Technician supports the provider care team by managing reports, data, and scheduling functions within the laboratory. Responsibilities include providing accurate and timely laboratory support, demonstrating excellent customer service aligned with Mercy Signature Service Standards, and skillfully collecting specimens for testing using safe and professional methods while adhering to HIPAA and lab policies. All duties should reflect our mission, values, and service standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: At least 6 months of phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience, or successful completion of a clinical training program.
• Additional Requirements: Must satisfactorily complete facility-specific competencies, including checklists, written exams, and management observations, to qualify for advancement.
