Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center seeks a PRN Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing under pharmacist supervision. The position is in Williamsburg, VA with rotating shifts and 8 hours per week.

Responsibilities include ensuring medication supply, triaging questions, and using Epic and Omnicell systems to process patient data accurately. Base pay, incentives, and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License required.
• CPhT considered a plus.
• Inpatient hospital experience preferred.

Sentara is hiring a PRN Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center.

Status

PRN (8 hrs/wk)

Shift

Rotating (12 hour shift)

Holiday Rotation

Hours may vary to meet pharmacy staffing needs.

Pharmacy Technicians perform care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
