Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring a PRN Inpatient Pharmacy Technician. This role supports care delivery and dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, with an 8 hours per week commitment on rotating 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities include filling and delivering medications, ensuring supplies, triaging questions, using Epic and Omnicell systems, maintaining QA, and operating equipment. A Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required; CPhT preferred.

Qualifications

• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required.
• CPhT License (Preferred).
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed.
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.
• Other duties may be assigned.
