Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center in the United States is seeking an entry-level Pharmacy Technician to support medication delivery and inventory control in a clinical setting. This role emphasizes patient/provider communication and requires completion of high school diploma and PTCB/NHA certification within 2 years.

The position is regular, 20 hours per week with rotation shifts. Training and onboarding are provided; you will work under supervision in a hospital pharmacy environment.

The pharmacy technician works as an entry-level position focused on medication delivery and inventory management. The position has basic patient/provider service responsibilities through communication and message retrieval.

Job Duties

• Provide patient/provider/customer care
• Use the pharmacy computer system to facilitate patient care
• Participate in patient/provider/customer care activities that do not require the expertise of a pharmacist
• Prepare and label medications appropriately for distribution.
• Retrieve, review, and perform inventory management for medications and supplies in the pharmacy.
• Maintain pharmacy records.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the pharmacy in compliance with hospital and accreditation policies.
• Participate in the onboarding and training of new pharmacy personnel.
• Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
• Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
