Job summary

The Geisinger Pharmacy at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA is hiring an entry-level Pharmacy Technician focused on medication delivery and inventory management. You will support patient care through communication and message retrieval, and prepare/ label medications for distribution in a clinical setting.

Required: high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience; certification within 2 years by PTCB or NHA, and PA Board registration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of related work experience is required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years by PTCB or NHA, registered as trainee or intern by PA Board.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient/provider/customer care
• Use the pharmacy computer system to facilitate patient care
• Participate in patient/provider/customer care activities that do not require the expertise of a pharmacist
• Prepare and label medications appropriately for distribution.
• Retrieve, review, and perform inventory management for medications and supplies in the pharmacy.
• Maintain pharmacy records.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the pharmacy in compliance with hospital and accreditation policies.
• Participate in the onboarding and training of new pharmacy personnel.
• Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
• Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
