Job summary

Hy-Vee seeks a Pharmacy Technician, Non-Certified, to assist pharmacists with prescription processing, insurance billing, inventory, and customer service. You will gain hands-on experience toward national certification while supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications.

You’ll handle patient information with HIPAA compliance, prepare labels, and assist in vaccinations where permitted by law. A strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working toward licensed technician certification through a certified national program required.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy clerk preferred.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service in the pharmacy.
• Assist with prescription processing and insurance billing under supervision.
• Support inventory management and ordering of pharmacy supplies.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing.
• Prepare and affix labels and prepare prescriptions to be mailed or picked up.
• Maintain patient information and HIPAA privacy.
• Handle cash transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
• Greet customers and gather necessary patient information.
• Participate in vaccination administration where allowed by law and certified.
• Collaborate with team to ensure excellent customer service.
• Support other store areas as needed.
