The Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in providing optimal pharmaceutical care. You will gather, label, distribute medications, and safely prepare compounds, including handling controlled substances, following regulatory requirements.

Requirements include completion of an approved Vocational Pharmacy Technician training program and at least six months of technician experience, or 18 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved vocational Pharmacy Technician training program.
• At least six months of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician, or at least eighteen months if no formal training.
• Proficiency in reading/writing English and strong verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient.
• Gathers, labels and distributes medications accurately and efficiently.
• Packages, prepares and safely compounds medications including hazardous substances accurately and efficiently.
• Handles and distributes controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assists with training new pharmacy staff and maintaining medication inventories.
