Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the pharmacist in delivering high-quality patient care. You will gather, label and distribute medications, and support safe compounding and handling of hazardous substances in a busy hospital setting.

This role requires completion of an approved Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent experience, strong English communication, attention to detail, math skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved vocational Pharmacy Technician training program and at least six months of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician; or at least eighteen months of applicable experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Effectively reads, writes, speaks and understands English.
• Possess strong telephone and verbal communication skills; good math/calculator ability; knowledge of metric system.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in providing optimal pharmaceutical care to the patient; gathers, labels and distributes medications accurately.
• Packages, prepares and safely compounds medications including hazardous substances accurately.
• Handles, manages and distributes controlled substances in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assists with training new pharmacy staff and maintaining accurate medication inventories.
