Texas Health Resources in Plano seeks a Pharmacy Technician II to assist in hospital pharmacy operations, perform medication preparation and distribution under supervision, and support nursing units. You will bring a high school diploma, 6 months of hospital pharmacy experience, and an active RPhT upon hire.

IV certification is strongly preferred, and strong English communication with computer literacy and math skills are required.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 6 Months experience in a Texas Health hospital pharmacy is required.
• RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire is required
• IV Certification Upon Hire is strongly preferred
• Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra. The ability to work alone, and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate and respond verbally and in writing to or for patients, family members and staff members

Responsibilities

• Functionality requiring additional competency above Tech I, may require less supervision than a Tech I
• Autonomous responsibility either with record keeping or as a single point of contact outside the department
• Advanced technology expertise and ownership
• Delegated functions of pharmacy leadership (manager or lead technicians)
• Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
• Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards, programs and initiatives.
• Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
