Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant in the Home Health Specialty Pharmacy group located in Lincoln Building. This full-time role (40 hours/week) supports pharmacists by entering prescriptions, preparing medications, and assisting with insurance and inventory tasks.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 3+ years in a related role, and PTCB plus OH Board of Pharmacy certification; one year in specialty pharmacy is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of related work experience.
  • PTCB certification and OH Board of Pharmacy certification.
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a specialty pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Medication Orders - Enter prescriptions into pharmacy software for pharmacist review. Pulls and labels hazardous and nonhazardous medications for pharmacist verification. Demonstrates ability to complete basic pharmacy math calculations for specialty medications.
  • Cold Chain Distribution – Prepares packages for delivery following specific cold chain distribution procedures.
  • Phone Triage - Performs outpatient phone triage.
  • Refills – Contacts patients to schedule refills and conduct disease assessments.
  • Insurance - Performs insurance adjudication and troubleshooting.
  • Inventory - Receives and enters inventory into pharmacy software.
