Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is seeking a part-time Pharmacy staff member in the O/P Pharmacy department. The role involves unit dose preparation, non-sterile compounding, and outpatient phone triage at 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE).

Starting pay ranges from $19.50 to $23.92 per hour, based on experience and credentials. Additional pay differentials and benefits may apply. This is an on-site position at the Burnet Campus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active OH Board of Pharmacy registration.
  • PTCB and OH Board certification within 18 months of hire.
  • ASHP-accredited program graduate OR licensed as Pharmacy Intern OR 6 months of pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare unit dose medications for cartfill and first doses.
  • Prepare non-sterile, non-hazard dose medications.
  • Handle outpatient pharmacy phone triage.
  • Process insurance adjudication.
  • Perform inventory management and interact with dispensing machines and hospital systems.

Education

PTCB certification and OH Board of Pharmacy certification within 18 months of hire
ASHP accredited program graduate OR licensed as a Pharmacy Intern OR 6 months of pharmacy related experience

Job Responsibilities
  • Medication Orders - Performs unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses. Non-sterile, non-hazard dose preparation for first fill or cartfill including preparation of oral syringes from liquid dosage forms. Delivery of patient specific doses. Prepare and perform ADC replenishment.
  • Compounding - Compounds non-sterile, non-hazardous medications.
  • Phone Triage - Performs outpatient pharmacy phone triage.
  • Medical Claims - Performs insurance adjudication.
  • Inventory Management - Performs medication storage inspections. Interact with pharmacy automated dispensing machines and hospital computer systems as necessary.
JOB QUALIFICIATIONS
