Job summary

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for night shift at the Burnet Campus, Pharmacy. This full-time role involves 35 weekly hours and requires flexibility to work 1st and 2nd shifts for training.

Regular status; compensation is experience-based with potential shift differentials. Responsibilities include unit-dose preparation, ADC replenishment, patient-specific dose delivery, insurance claims adjudication, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required.
• PTCB certification and Ohio Board of Pharmacy certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
• ExCPT is acceptable to meet minimum requirements.
• ASHP-accredited program graduate or licensed as a Pharmacy Intern or 6 months of pharmacy-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Medication orders: unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses.
• Non-sterile dose preparation for first fill or cartfill including oral syringes.
• Delivery of patient-specific doses.
• Prepare and perform ADC replenishment.
• Compounding non-sterile, non-hazardous medications.
• Phone triage for outpatient pharmacy.
• Medical claims adjudication.
• Inventory management and interaction with dispensing machines and hospital computer systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Medication Orders - Performs unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses.
• Non-sterile, non-hazard dose preparation for first fill or cartfill including preparation of oral syringes from liquid dosage forms.
• Delivery of patient specific doses.
• Prepare and perform ADC replenishment.
• Compounding - Compounds non-sterile, non-hazardous medications.
• Phone Triage - Performs outpatient pharmacy phone triage.
• Medical Claims - Performs insurance adjudication.
• Inventory Management - Performs medication storage inspections. Interact with pharmacy automated dispensing machines and hospital computer systems as necessary.
