Winter Park Memorial Hospital has continuously served the residents of Winter Park and its surrounding communities for more than 50 years
Chartered in 1951, the hospital has grown from the visionary efforts of a handful of Winter Park residents and community leaders, to a 307-bed acute care facility that is a model of community health and wellness
Over the years the hospital has continually expanded to meet the needs of the community, adding an upscale obstetrics and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place, cancer care at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and state-of-the-art surgery, recovery and rehabilitation at the AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute
The role you’ll contribute:
Primary responsibility is the provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs, including the compounding, dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications to the patients. Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist final review/check, delivers checked medications, and returns unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas. Prepares sterile products such as IV solutions, piggyback containers, irrigations, TPNs, prefilled syringes, reconstituting of medications under aseptic conditions. Keeps work area and equipment clean and neat. Performs various clerical and specialized duties. Helps in the training of pharmacy technician I and newly hired pharmacy technicians. Accurately refills and conducts inventory of medication dispensing systems and accurately loads and unloads medications as directed. Assists in recording and distribution of large and small volume IV solutions. Performs all necessary tasks related to front reception area. Serves the needs of neonatal, pediatric, adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients. Provides distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist, performing activities or tasks in specialty pharmacy services. Assists pharmacists in promoting an organized and functional pharmacy service, prepares medications for dispensing, and maintains records. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in standard work parameters, hospital and pharmacy specific computer systems, and operational programs
Maintains operational expertise and competency in, and actively provides coverage of at least two of the following:
Central/Distributive operations
Sterile compounding
Decentral/ Automated Dispensing Cabinet delivery pharmacy operations
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
High School Grad or Equiv
Registered Pharmacy Technician
If applicable to facility Sterile Compounding Certification
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in a physical science, business or healthcare
One year of contemporary hospital pharmacy, retail or ambulatory experience
Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or from the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT)
