Job summary

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to dispense medications, maintain inventory, and update patient records under pharmacist supervision. The role centers on accurate medication delivery and adherence to policy.

Responsibilities include processing orders, dispensing controlled substances with proper documentation, stocking supplies, and assisting with ordering and returns during rounds. Requires HS diploma and state-registered tech eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of related experience is preferred.
• Active Registered pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern, as per State requirements, with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy is required.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders requested by physician or pharmacist and deliver to patient care and other areas.
• Dispense controlled substances with proper documentation; counting discrepancies and reporting any suspected diversions to the pharmacist.
• Ensure there is an adequate stock of medications and supplies, according to established policies and procedures.
• Assist ordering; receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and related supplies in the appropriate locations, rotating stock and replacing outdated drugs.
• Pick up orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
• Organize and prioritize work assignments; respond timely to urgent and routine requests.
