Job summary

HCA Florida Northwest Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to join our team. You will dispense medications, maintain drug inventory, and accurately update patient records under the direct supervision of the pharmacist.

In this role you will fill medication orders, document controlled substances with care, ensure stock levels are adequate, assist with ordering and receiving supplies, and help prioritize urgent requests to support safe, efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years of related experience is preferred.
• Active Registered pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern, as per State requirements, with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy is required.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders requested by physician or pharmacist and deliver to patient care and other areas.
• Dispense controlled substances with proper documentation; counting discrepancies and reporting any suspected diversions to the pharmacist.
• Ensure there is an adequate stock of medications and supplies, according to established policies and procedures.
• Assist ordering; receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and related supplies; rotating stock and replacing outdated and unusable drugs.
• Pickup orders, requisitions, and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds.
• Organize and prioritize work assignments; respond timely to urgent and routine requests.
