Job summary

Kroger Co. is seeking a pharmacy clerk to provide exceptional customer service while supporting health and wellness goals. This role involves accurate data entry, product dispensing, cashier duties, and adherence to all regulatory and company guidelines.

You will assist the pharmacist, manage inventory and billing, respond to inquiries, and ensure a safe, clean, inclusive environment for customers and employees alike. Must meet state requirements and be at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation and safety regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
• Follow guidelines on inventory management and ordering of medications, devices, supplements and supplies.
• Maintain clean and organized work stations and customer waiting areas.
• Count, measure and prepare specified product per best practices.
• Complete billing procedures to ensure value to customer and company.
• Answer phone and triage calls; respond to inquiries as appropriate.
• Adhere to guidelines on coupons, cash shortages and shrink.
• Operate cash register and handle payments to prevent loss.
• Provide stellar customer experience through reception, data entry, adjudication and product dispensing.
• Assist pharmacist in responsibilities not requiring professional judgement.
• Follow HIPAA regulations and company policies.
• Support health and wellness initiatives.
• Handle legend orders and Central Fill deliveries.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts constructively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Interact with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
