Job summary

Kroger Co. is hiring for a pharmacy clerk role focused on delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist pharmacists, perform reception and data entry tasks, and help with product dispensing while following HIPAA and safety protocols. The position requires attention to confidentiality, compliance with regulations, and the ability to work with diverse customers including minors and older adults.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.
• Any previous comparable experience preferred.
• Any equivalent experience of a pharmacy clerk.
• EPRN familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to help people live healthier lives in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
• Follow guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements and supplies.
• Maintain clean and organized work stations and customer waiting areas.
• Count, measure and prepare specified product using company best practices.
• Complete billing procedures adequately to assure best value to the customer and the company.
• Answer phone and triage calls and inquiries as appropriate.
• Adhere to guidelines on accepting and tendering vendor coupons, cash shortages, and shrink guidelines.
• Operate the cash register and process Electronic Fund Transactions, cash and checks.
• Provide a stellar customer experience while completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing steps.
• Assist pharmacist in responsibilities that do not require professional judgement.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies.
• Support company health and wellness initiatives.
• Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment and manage conflicts constructively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.
• Interact with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
