Job summary

Providence Covenant Children's Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications to nursing units and departments. Responsibilities include processing oral and IV medications, triaging orders, and maintaining ADS integrity.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License, and 1 year of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with PTCB

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License required at time of hire.
• 1 year of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with >2080 hours and current PTCB certification OR 2 years hospital pharmacy if not PTCB certified.

Responsibilities

• Fill/dispense unit dose, stock medications, and dispense to nursing units and ancillary departments.
• Triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).
• Ensure accurate and prompt dispensing of oral and IV medications.

The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech II performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS)

Required Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED


• Upon hire: Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee Or


• Upon hire: Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License


• 1 yearof minimum of one year (> 2080 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and current PTCB certification - OR - 2 years (>4160 hours) hospital pharmacy if not PTCB certified

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training and Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program


• Upon hire: Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state


• Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR)
