Job summary

Independent Health in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Pharmacy Technician who, under a licensed pharmacist, assists in daily pharmacy activities not requiring professional judgment.

This position is fully onsite with rotating first/second shifts and a minimum of two closing shifts per week (1:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m.). Hourly compensation ranges from $22.50 to $24.50, with potential benefits and incentive opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred.
• One year of experience in a high-volume pharmacy or equivalent setting required.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Experience with online claims processing system preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with health care professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pharmacy department activities not requiring the pharmacist's professional judgment.
• Maintain patient records.
• Set up, package, and label medication doses.
• Handle processing of equipment and supply orders and sterile products preparation.
• Package and ship medications.
• Set up and optimize delivery routes.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical safety hazards and drug handling.
• Notify Pharmacist staff of dispensing, storage, packaging, and related issues.
• Rotate stock, supplies, and packaging materials.
• Maintain cleanliness of registered and packaging space.
