Job summary

Redding Rancheria is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in eligibility checks, third-party billing and customer service within the tribal health program. Reporting to the Pharmacist in Charge, you will handle POS transactions, maintain stock levels and support the filling of prescriptions under state and federal laws.

Qualified applicants must hold an active California Pharmacy Technician license, have basic computer and cash-handling skills, and welcome Indian preference.

Qualifications

• Active California State Board of Pharmacy Technician license required.
• Basic computer and typing skills.
• Cash register and customer service experience.
• Indian preference applies.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming requests from patients, providers and referral team for new medications and refills.
• Understand insurance and benefits, submit prior authorizations with supporting docs.
• Investigate and verify benefits for pharmacy claims for assigned cases.
• Contact providers for information to facilitate coverage determinations.
• Notify physicians and members of coverage decisions.
• Ensure scripts are filled timely by coordinating with providers and other departments.
• Ensure labs and diagnostics are completed as required prior to dispensing certain medications.
• Adhere to refill center workflows and clinical protocols.
• Adapt to high-volume, fast-paced medical group setting.
• Communicate with Pharmacist on duty for consults and order discrepancies.
