Qualifications

High School diploma required.
Some pharmacy-related or hospital clinical background preferred.
Preference given to nationally certified pharmacy technicians.
Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Responsibilities

Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications for dispensing.
Does not dispense any medication that isn’t double checked by a registered pharmacist.
Runs the pharmacy robot and maintains stock in automated dispensing cabinets.
Draws up doses in the IV class 10,000 clean room utilizing a class 100 laminar flow hood and aseptic technique.
Performs pharmacy stock QA inspections on all nursing units.
Makes delivery/pickup rounds to units and departments and performs computer order entry functions.
Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisors/pharmacists.
Provides customer service by processing paper, electronic and phone requests for medications.
