Job summary

Westchester Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician who will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to prepare medications for patient delivery. The role includes operating automated dispensing machines (Pyxis, PARx), maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with 340B and sterile IV room procedures.

The position requires prior pharmacy technician experience and preferred certification (PTCB).

Qualifications

• Experience as a pharmacy technician is required.
• Technician certification preferred (PTCB).
• Experience with automated dispensing machines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medications for delivery to patients under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Maintains Pyxis/PARx operations and inventory management.
• Maintains departmental inventory and restocks storage areas.
• Keeps departmental records in accordance with policy.
• Assists in 340B program compliance.
• Supports 797 compliance for the sterile IV room, including cleaning.
• Performs monthly nursing unit inspections.
• Generates daily reports and processes charges in Epic.
• Communicates with other departments to support medication distribution.
