Job summary

Independence Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in the medication distribution system. Under supervision, you will fill orders, prepare cassettes, reconcile discrepancies, and deliver medications to patient care areas.

You will assist with IV medications per USP 797/800 guidelines, maintain inventory, operate the Cerner system and automated cabinets, and communicate with staff across units.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current SBOP registration as Pharmacy Technician or trainee registration.
• Regulatory and liability knowledge for nursing practice.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly.

Responsibilities

• Fill new medication orders and cassettes for pharmacist review.
• Deliver and retrieve medications to patient care areas and nursing units.
• Prepare IV medications per USP 797/800 guidelines for review.
• Utilize Cerner and operate automated dispensing systems.
• Maintain inventory, restock cabinets, and manage stock levels.
• Assist with packaging, labeling, and batch prep as needed.
• Support quality assurance and training across the department.
• Complete documentation and handle charging/crediting tasks.
