Job summary

Emory University is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the department under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Responsibilities include procuring, preparing, packaging, distributing and disposing medications and supplies, maintaining inventory, and ensuring patient records and charging are accurate.

The role follows USP, DEA, and FDA guidelines and requires shift coverage on a 7-on/7-off schedule with 12:00 PM–10:30 PM starts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• ASHP-accredited technician training program or enrollment preferred.
• 6 months of Pharmacy Technician experience or ASHP training completed preferred.
• CPhT certification and Georgia registration required or enrollment in pharmacy school with GA intern license.

Responsibilities

• Procure, prepare, package, distribute, and dispose medications under supervision.
• Maintain inventory and restock items to ensure immediate availability.
• Follow USP, DEA, and FDA guidelines for repackaging and compounding.
• Operate and maintain departmental automation and equipment.
• Verify pharmacist products and ensure timely distribution of medications.
• Maintain patient records including charging and credits.
• Answer calls, triage requests, and assist customers.

Education

ASHP accredited technician training program

6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician

CPhT certification + Georgia registration
