Job summary

Emory Healthcare in Atlanta is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in procuring, preparing, packaging, and distributing medications and supplies to ensure quality patient care.

Under supervision, you will maintain inventory, follow USP/DEA guidelines, operate department automation, document patient profiles, and respond to calls while supporting team training and daily operations to maintain a safe, efficient pharmacy workflow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• ASHP-accredited technician training program or enrollment preferred.
• 6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician or completion of ASHP-accredited tech training preferred.
• Current CPhT certification through PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration, or enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with Georgia Pharmacy Intern license.
• Must maintain certification and registration through employment.

Responsibilities

• Procures, prepares, packages, distributes, and disposes medications and supplies under supervision.
• Maintains inventory of drugs and supplies; re-orders and stocks on delivery.
• Follows USP, DEA, FDA guidelines for repackaging and compounding; operates department automation.
• Maintains accurate patient records and charging/crediting information.
• Responds to customers by phone, messages, and triaging requests; supports quality assurance and training.
