Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• ASHP-accredited technician training program completion preferred.
• 6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician or completion of ASHP-accredited tech training preferred.
• Current CPhT certification through PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration, or current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with a current Georgia Pharmacy Intern license.
• Must maintain certification and registration through entire length of employment.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a registered pharmacist, procures, prepares, packages, distributes and disposes medications and supplies.
• Maintains inventory of drugs and supplies; re-orders to ensure availability.
• Follows guidelines for repackaging/compounding; adheres to USP, DEA, FDA.
• Operates, troubleshoots, and cleans automation/equipment.
• Verifies pharmacist decisions and ensures timely distribution of medications.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

ASHP accredited technician training program

6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician or ASHP training

CPhT certification and GA Technician registration

Enrollment in School of Pharmacy with GA Pharmacy Intern license
