*This is a time limited NS-14 position* All activities are conducted under direct or indirect supervision of a licensed pharmacist.1. Assists in MSDH Pharmacy warehouse inventory control to ensure amounts and types of medication and the proper receipt, sorting, and recording of medication.a. Receives, unpacks, sorts and stores a variety of medication and supplies (including medications requiring refrigeration or special storage) for shipment and distribution.b. Processes county health department requests for medications and suppliesc. Affixes required labels to medication bottle or containerd. Record the type and amount of drugs issued to county health departments to have accurate drug distribution records.e. Enter information into the pharmacy computer2. Provides primary support to the MSDH Pharmacy Family Planning prescription program. Assists pharmacists with acquisition, preparation, and distribution of prescription drugs. Ids Medicaid, Medicare, and private third party payers.a. Completes monthly assigned record of FP program inventory (ensures adequate stocks of medication are on-hand without unnecessary waste; assists in the proper receipt, sorting, and storage of medications including rotation of stock and monitoring of expiration dates). Frequent support in putting received drug shipment inventory into secure and appropriate storage.b. Opens, sorts, counts and records items received through intra-agency mail; monthly tracks and records FP unique patients and FP products dispensed by MSDHregion; works with pharmacist showing usage of FP items.c. Processes prescriptions from FP Edit Report daily from 7:30 am - 8:00 am.3. Follows assigned technician workflow. Works in accordance with MSDH Policies and Procedures. Assists licensed pharmacist with other MSDH pharmacy programs or special projects as assigned and within the scope of a pharmacy technician.
What you'll need to be Successful
Knowledge in cold-chain shipping; in warehouse will operate a pallet jack and a walkie stacker, Warehouse inventory control processes (FIFO); operation of equipment; attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency, 0-2 years of experience, and a passing score on the registration exam must be obtained within the first year of being a technician.
