Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing in Los Angeles is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in a retail healthcare facility. You will assist in maintaining accurate medication distribution, verify prescriptions, and handle patient interactions under supervision.

Responsibilities include inventory management, processing prescriptions and insurance claims, updating patient records, and helping customers in person or by phone.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technology Program.
• PTCB or NPTA license preferred or as required by state/contract.
• Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.

The Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Retail Pharmacy Technician is responsible for maintaining a professional attitude that ensures efficient, accurate, and timely distribution of medications processed through the retail pharmacy. The Retail Pharmacy Technician will maintain the drug inventory, process patient prescriptions, process insurance claims, and maintain patient records. Responsibilities also includes assisting pharmacy customers both in person and via in bound phone calls.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or its equivalent certification
• Graduate of accredited Pharmacy Technology Program
• PTCB or NPTA license preferred or as required by state/contract
• Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
