Pharmacy Technicians (Technicians) play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. As a Technician you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist our patients and customers to deliver an exceptional experience.
Responsibilities
- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, offering immunizations, and solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as accurately putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks and waiting bin inventories.
- Embrace a growth mindset, seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge, and remain flexible for scheduling and business needs.
- Understand and comply with federal, state and local laws, regulations, professional standards and ethical principles, including controlled substance dispensing and record‑keeping.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and volunteering at off‑site clinics) where allowed by law and supported by required training.
Immunization Support (where permitted)
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status and support vaccine preparation and administration.
- Educate patients about vaccine importance and refer to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty for vaccination questions.
- Monitor for adverse reactions, report adverse events per public health requirements, and manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
- Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification).
- Minimum age 16 if the state board does not impose a higher minimum.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment in high school, if the state board does not require higher education.
- State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
Essential Functions
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Attention and Focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription accuracy.
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: look for ways to help people, notice patient reactions, respond appropriately.
- Communication Skills: use and understand verbal and written communication, active listening.
- Mathematical Reasoning: solve math problems related to prescription dispensing.
- Problem Resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
- Physical Demands: maintain mobility, lift items, reach overhead, perform repetitive finger tasks, occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
- Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1‑3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.

Pay Range
Typical pay range: $16.00 – $24.00 per hour. Actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors.
